Hands down this movie is Oscar-Worthy!If there was a better grade than an A+ i would give it that! If you haven't seen this movie you will laugh and cry. This movie is everything!!! - Forrest Gump Reviews
This has got to be the best movie of the century. It's amazing how they thought of this. It wasn't inspired by a book and it isn't a remake. I really admire the producer and director of this movie because it is so awesome. It awes me to how they put a bunch of events of Forrest's life and everything ties in together just perfectly. And Tom Hanks really did his best in this movie than any other. I give him and this brilliant movie two thumbs up!
A life-lesson movie - Forrest Gump Reviews
I'll go ahead and tell you the life-lesson so's you're not 'watchin' for it' when you see the movie.
(Although chances-are that you've seen this movie, as it was one of those 'gotta-see'-movies even back when it first came out ... and as it remains a 'gotta-see'-movie even today.)
The lesson? Well, there's several ways to say it. I would latch on to the popular "Don't sweat the small stuff," but it's important to remember there to keep only the good stuff 'big' (i.e. sweated-upon).
Lots of bad stuff happens in a person's life. You might say that a person's life?especially one like Forrest's?is built upon the bad stuff that happens ... but you should only remember the good ways that people handled the bad stuff?in turn handling your bad stuff the same way?and then only remembering how well the good stuff turned out.
That's why the simple can be outstanding - Forrest Gump Reviews
It's so sweet, so sentimental...
Man, it takes a really insensitive person not to like it. It deserves an Oscar!
The main character is the perfect hero that goes against those epic ones.
It's really adorable.

One of the funniest movies ever made.Original,Fun, emotional ,hilarious and in some bizzare way a magical cinamatic experience. This movie is not about any serious moral or social questions ,but yet its story is filled with these situations all around it.Forrest Gump at its heart is about enjoying the simple things in life and not being over come by life dilemas.A must see film for people of all ages and walks of life.
Gump - Forrest Gump Reviews
Before watching this movies, I've always heard that this is a best movie Tom Hanks ever made. Well, it's true that he did do a great job acting the Gump. However, the storyline is not that attractive for me. It's simply a lifestory of the character.
Mindblowing - Forrest Gump Reviews

A touching film - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump is a film with many faces. It is dramatic, funny, heart warming, and even sad.
This film shows a friendly man with a below average I.Q. who loves living. Tom Hanks portrays this character superbly, and deserves any and all praise for this skilled acting.
This film is fortunatly lacking in mediocre typical "boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy and girl sleep together, boy and girl break up, but boy and girl get back together, and sleep together more" dialogue and scenes.
If you love sickly sugary chick flicks, or films that simply show buildings blowing up and buckets of blood with no storyline, turn else where. However, if you enjoy many genres, or are simply looking for a fresh story with excellent acting, watch Forrest Gump.
Chocolate?! - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks) My mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
Mrs. Gump (Sally Field) Remember what I told you, Forrest. You're no different than anybody else is. Did you hear what I said, Forrest?
You're the same as everybody else. You are no different.
Principal (Sam Anderson) Your boy's... different, Miz Gump. His IQ's 75.
Mrs. Gump Well, we're all different, Mr. Hancock.
Mrs. Gump defines vacation. Vacation's when you go somewhere... and you don't ever come back.
Jenny Curran Have you ever been with a girl, Forrest?
Forrest Gump I sit next to them in my home economics class all the time.
Forrest Gump My name's Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump.
Ur soul will be free! - Forrest Gump Reviews
When the movie ended and the feather covered the screen, i refused to come back to the real world. This movie is magic!
I have never seen a floating story like this before. Tom Hanks is truly one of the finest actors in the history of cinema. He deserved every award he got from this movie!
Rest of the cast is brilliant.Robin Wright Penn & Gary sinise give away their best performances.
But im just remembering their names only to write this review. For me they are forrest, jenny & lieutanent dyan. i was a person who only likes movies which have lots of visual effects. But this movie has changed itall.Hats off to Robert Zemeckis

A very magical and playful film - Forrest Gump Reviews
Tom Hanks gives an outstanding perfomance in Robert Zemeckis' 'Forrest Gump'. This movie tells the story of a man from Alabama who is just a little bit slower than the average person. He does not let his impairment slow him down though as he tells the story of his life from one adventure to the next. The screenwriting is magnificent by Eric Roth, the story fluently changing gears of emotion from laughter to deep, sentimental emotion. Forrest Gump is one the the greatest charecters to grace the cinemas and also one of the greatest films.
An amazing acheivement - Forrest Gump Reviews
The famous line from this movie, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never now what you're gonna get," is sort of ironic, considering the fact that when you see this movie, you don't now what you're going to get. You could hate it, or you could love it.
So movies are also like a box of chocolates.
My favorite movie - Forrest Gump Reviews
I've seen this movie so many times and
it keeps on getting better. Tom Hanks is
amazing in this movie and its his best
performance, which says alot.
Everyone must see it!!

Forrest gump - Forrest Gump Reviews
A hearttouching story with a very memorable slowwitted character we call Forrest. A truly great movie that relied on a good plot and an action scene in the middle.
Great - Forrest Gump Reviews
I found this movie to be one of he best movies I have ever seen. There was nothing in this movie that I didn't enjoy,it was a great family movie. I wish people would find time to write more of these types of films.
Tom hanks at his best - Forrest Gump Reviews
This is where Tom Hanks proved himself more than just some actor. Because of his superb acting in this film, he will forever be an acting legend. This is realistic fiction at its best. It has the perfect mix of comedy and drama, along with a fantastic plot. This movie truly deserves every bit of praise it receives. Forever a classic.

This movie was the greatest thing i have ever seen - Forrest Gump Reviews
I cannot beilive that there are people out there that do not like this movie. I think that they are narrowminded and all they want is to see mindless action with no plot...dont get me wrong i like the ocassionally romp with guns and cars but theis movie has heart. You can tell that the actors and director put alot of heart into this movie!
My favorite scenes. - Forrest Gump Reviews
When Lt. Dan finds peace after the storm and a long life of bitterness. When Forrest keeps running and running for years just because he feels like it. These scenes leave the viewer to ponder their own life.

Loved every minnute of this movie - Forrest Gump Reviews
It's a mgiacal wonderful movie spand over the 50's to the late 80's.Tom Hanks dose a great job as Forrest Gump and all the other acters do a great job to. See this movie I garantee you'll love every minnute of it.
Best movie of the 90's - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump was one of many that I enjoyed watching over and over again. The fact that it showed the life of Forrest from beginning to pretty much the end. A little seriousness slapped up with humor and emotion, just couldn't get enough. You can see how Forrest reacted to the events that happened many years ago, and how we see it through his eyes. Tom Hanks did an excellent job portraying an semi-retarded character, he does like following his mother's advice. Jenny (played by Robin Wright, not Penn yet) does and excellent job as well. A free soul who just wants more of everything to life, only downfall is that she dies in the end. Lt. Dan (played by Gary Sinise), pretty much made his career as an actor after this. Must see this if you haven't yet, you couldn't believe how many people mock this movie. Hilarious. CYA.

Magic, tragic, always lovable gump - Forrest Gump Reviews
I had read the book before i'm actually seen the movie. And i must say that this was among the best adaptation (if it's not the very best) movie from a book i've ever seen. In the book, i've always loved Forrest Gump. The one for being a slow-witted, but true to his words, and determined to it (as i've myself never achieved such determination) which gives him a success guarantee to every path he took without even had an overly ambition (except for his feeling towards Jenny - a jerky, unworthy, but tragically disordered childhood girlfriend) which why he would never had his true natural happiness lost in him.
Here, Tom Hanks proves himself as a magnificent actor and he deserves every praise and of-course, an Academy for it. He managed to bring the slow-witted, yet honest Gump to life naturally. The visuals were also entertaining in some ways. And i couldn't give anymore praise of this movie. Than to give it an outstanding mark.
The greatest film ever made - Forrest Gump Reviews
There will never be another film like it. It's a masterpiece, if I ever seen one. It's flawless... almost. The visuals might not be better than Citizen Kane, but the storytelling sure is, and that's good enough for me. A modern masterpiece!
Sickly moving...beautifully done 10/10 - Forrest Gump Reviews
Sad, sweet, and oddly moving! It all comes down to one thing how much sentimental can you take. A bold film that takes all the risks and gets it done marvelously. Tom Hanks is great and takes a big leap into stardom. Almost everything in this film is perfect and deeply beautiful. Nothing to be said other than it's one of your must-see films!

Tom hanks = good, everything else = bad... - Forrest Gump Reviews
If all you want to see is Tom Hanks with different facial expressions this movies is for you. His acting is outstanding and you can really believe the character that he is playing... That said everything else can be described in one word Dreadful. The story is impossible to believe and sticking Gump in all the possible historical scenarios sounds like a cool idea but not all that funny when it comes out in film. And then this film drags on, and on, and on, and on. Everything in history has to be influenced by Gump. All this would have been acceptable if this movie was an uplifting movie about the triumph of a "less then common man". However all the uplifting emotion is sucked out by the numerous scenes of Jenny. Jenny getting molested by her father, abused by numerous boyfriends, on a verge of suicide and finaly dying of some desease at the end does not a happy movie make. The only thing keeping "Forest Gump" from becoming a disaster is the fact that after suffering through the movie you can read the book by the same name. As opposed to the movie the book does all the right things and clicked with me on all cylinders.
Forrest's simple-minded adventures - Forrest Gump Reviews
Was this the movie with the line "Love is like a box of chocolates?"
The story is very improbable. A simple-minded person goes through a series of adventures that lead him through Vietnam, on a shrimp boat, and in a run across America. It's nice to view a fantasy, but this fantasy, unfortunately, is as simple-minded as its main character.
Nonetheless, it is a very entrtaining movie with great performances by Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise. Expert direction and visuals kept up my interest in this film.
A bit overrated - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump is too long, and some moments are quite dull. Tom Hanks shouldn't have won Best Actor in 1994. Morgan Freeman was much better in The Shawshank Redemption, released in the same year. But don't get me wrong- he still put on a terrific show as a local idiot. The first three quarters of this movie are pretty entertaining. I particularly like the parts where he meets the US presidents. It isn't very very funny but it has a couple of good jokes. Overall, I think you should see it.

Forrest gump: one of my favorite movies - Forrest Gump Reviews
Though I don?t like to rank or order my favorite movies from best to worst, whenever someone asks me to name my one most favorite movie of all time, I always have to say ?Forrest Gump.? The circumstances were just right for this movie, and I am so glad that all the people who worked on this film were able to come together and produce this amazing work. Every aspect of this film is outstanding. Robert Zemeckis did a truly amazing job of constructing such a heartfelt visual story and it in just the right way. I?ve found it to be true that a great movie must have a great film sore. And this is never more true than with ?Forrest Gump.? Alan Silvestri wrote the most touching music for this movie. Last, but certainly not least, the acting in this film is nothing short of astounding. This is Tom Hanks at his very best, and both Gary Sinise and Robin Wright portray the emotional struggles of the characters Lt. Dan and Jenny with the utmost sincerity.
?Forrest Gump? is based on the novel by Winston Groom, which I thought was an okay book, but it was screenwriter Eric Roth who really created the story that so many people have fallen in love with. ?Forrest Gump? is the story of the life of an intellectually underprivileged man and the different and amazing experiences he goes through along the way. I like to say that ?Forrest Gump? is like a modern-day version of ?Little Big Man? (Dustin Hoffman, 1970). The thing that gets me about this movie is all the horribly sad and tragic events that happen to Forrest; things that would crush the spirit of any ordinary human being. And not only is Forrest a tender and caring person, but he is mentally-challenged as well. Yet Forrest has an amazing spirit that endures and lives on. Forrest Gump?s character truly defines the term ?extraordinary.?
?Forrest Gump? touches on some of the most important themes in life: tolerance, war, friendship, family, love, and death. But the answer that Forrest is looking for the entire film, and sort of the ongoing and overlying theme of the entire movie is destiny. Like the feather opening and closing the circular story, Forrest is forever in search of the answer to his question, ?What is my destiny?? At the end of the movie, after having been through so many things and learning so many life lessons, some may say that Forrest is no closer to his answer than he was when he started. But in a way, Forrest is has become a wise and humble man, and after he puts his young son on the school bus to start off his own life journey, Forrest releases the feather, freeing it once again to the wind. That right there is the main message of the film. I like how Gary Sinise puts it in the making-of documentary ?Through The Eyes of Forrest Gump? with his slightly cynical, slightly comical style: ?Life is just a crap-shoot.?
Jenny - Forrest Gump Reviews
this movie is funny, sad, and overall a great movie tom hanks best work. the only thing i can say is like is like a box of choclates you never know what u our going to get
Among my favorite movies of all time!! - Forrest Gump Reviews
Tom Hanks must be among the greatest actors alive right now (matched only by Robin Williams). With two-Academy Awards for best-actor, he should've got a third for this wonderful masterpiece.
As a mentally-slow man growing up in the 50's, becoming the fastest football player for ASU, meeting the president Kennedy, going off to Vietnam and meeting Lt. Dan Taylor (Gary Sinise who won Best Supporting Actor), becoming ping-pong champion, becoming a shrimp boat captain and CEO of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., jogging around the nation for over 2 years, and settling down with his sweetheart Jenny whom dies of an uknown disease and being a father of a son, Forrest Gump tells the story of his life through his eyes over the decades and ending how it began, with him sitting on a park bench in Savanna.
This movie definently deserves Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director. BUY THIS ON DVD IMMEDIATLY!! You will be glad you did! Life is a box of chocolates.

D - for dumb humor - Wedding Crashers Reviews
I am simply let down everytime I get talked into going to an american made comedy. Who's rating these comedy movies... post pubescent boys and girls? I guess if you think bare breasted women, stupid cliches' and just plain dumb writing is funny... more power to you. I'll stick to the foreign comedies, until Hollywood can produce something more funny than this type of garbage.

Masterful...and a little something for naysayers.. - Forrest Gump Reviews
An incredibly moving film, by all acounts. Hanks was superb, the film was clean and uncluttered with many of the realities of a man with that sort of disability, yet surprisingly deep and poignant as he addresses many of the fears of human nature.
To those of you who gave this a low rating because it was 'overrated'. Let me remind you that the film didn't rate itself, and therefore doesn't deserve the criticism of having missed your expectations.
To give this film a C...because you didn't like it, is acceptable. Everyone has their tastes. To give this film an F...because it failed to meet YOUR expectations, is a bit far-fetched and makes me realize that Forrest Gump wasn't the only retard in the theater that night...
Cretins can find happiness too? - Forrest Gump Reviews
The fact that this movie has done so well in the United States is a such a sad, sad sign of our times.
Not even mediocrity, nay cretinism is glorified in this movie. As we collectively slip more and more, we can at least console ourselves thinking that maybe we'll just luck out? Is that what this dumb movie is trying to say?
Or, even if you are completely stupid, if you are a good person, everything will somehow work out for you?
Now, who can personally attest to this theory? I can't. Sorry folks. Let's palease stay in the realm of what is at least marginally true, not the utterly absurd. It's hurting impressionable minds out there.
This movie is not about a box of chocolates, but an assortment of terds.

See the zen in it and you'll see a great film - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Grump is a parable about simpicity and fidelity in an age of pigmies and phonies. Read a book of Zen stories and then watch this movie for the multi-layed social commentary that it is. I rank it as historically one of the best movies ever made. Exceptional eyes-wide-open truth is almost never this much fun and entertaining.

Run, forrest, run! - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump is just one of those movies that everytime you watch it, you discover something new. You can't just watch it once! It was really good, and I think the war part was a good portrait of how it really is (or at least how I really think it is...). This movie is a classic!

Run, forrest, run - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump is a drama movie which has some characteristics of a fascinating movie such as a well-known actor, Tom Hanks. The film is about one sort of life that is difficult to see around but we can imagine it easily so that is not an absolute fiction and it has a taste of reality.
The first and last scenes of Forest Gump start and finish with a feather the symbol of lightness and travel. Its style is stimulating, it starts from the middle and Forrest's childhood and youth are shown as a series of flashbacks after that you see the rest of it.
"Run, Forrest, run" is a kind of symbol which motives Forrest and helps this na? guy to overcome his difficulties and be a perfect runner. Although he is not very smart as he, himself says he knows what love is and after all he can marry his childhood sweetheart, Jenny, all the time he is faithful to what he is not sure about, he simply shows that values of integrity, and loyalty are worthwhile. Forrest can gain many achievements but almost nothing is important for him but jenny and you can absorb it when he gives his medal to jenny and some other parts those Forrest aggressively strike whom is not respectful to jenny.
Among all symbols which I love most is the tree that Jenny and Forrest sit on its branches when they are children and after jenny's death she is buried next to its trunk.
In my opinion Forest Gump is not a masterwork but if you ignore the patronizing style of it, you can watch it several times.
The man with strange paragon - Forrest Gump Reviews
This is what I call strange paragon, tell about a man who in the first place became an object for the world, and because his pure heart he became a subject for the world. A great story with a great actor. I love this movie.
The perfect movie - Forrest Gump Reviews
This was about destiny. Lt Dan was a shrimp boat Captain and Bubba died in Vietnam. Their destinies were switched. Forrest had crippled legs and was a runner. Lt Dan had strong legs and lost them. remember Lt Dan saying "TAKE CARE OF YOUR FEET!" Great lines ..."Sometimes there are not enough rocks". "I may not be a smart man but I know what love is." The acting superb. See the scene where Forrest finally gets it that he has a son, and tries to ask if Forrest Jr. is smart. That is the best acting scene I have seen since. The music so matched the mood and scenes that it made me laugh with delight. Perfect! Gary Sinise should have won Best Supporting Actor and he didn't. That was the crime of the decade. I saw Tom hanks and Sally Field in another movie together called Punch Line. That was not even close. Forrest Gump the perfect movie. They usually don't want the winner of Best Actor oscar to be the same two years in a row. It just so happened that Tom won it for Philadelphia the year before. If they could they wopuld have picked another. But his acting was so superb that they were forced to do it.

Life is like a box of chocolates.... - Forrest Gump Reviews
This is absolutely magnificent... Before the Lord Of The Rings trilogy this was the movie which mostly deserved 11 oscars... The story is the most brilliant ever and the acting is on another level with Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson a.s.o. in amazing performances... The script is super and Mister Zemeckis must be some sort of a genious (Not in Cast Away though)... BRILLIANT ABSOULTELY BRILLIANT...
The perfect movie. - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump is the greatest movie of all-time in my books. There is not one bad thing about this movie. The story of an boy who was picked on at a younger age to a man with pride and enthusiam, with a heart of gold. Forrest set's the standards for movies today. Tom Hanks portray's Forrest with great acting. Tom makes you want to reach out and feel what Forrest is feeling. The music in this movie is the greatest soundrack for any movie in history. The music back them shows us how great life really was, and Forrest brings it to life.

Outstanding performance by hanks - Forrest Gump Reviews
The Book was much better, but the movie is still very good, and Tom Hanks gives one of the best performances on screen, by a male actor. He's up there with Cary Grant in North By Northwest, and Jamie Foxx, in Ray. The film also puts a smile on your face very well.
Not my favorite: not an incredibly good 1 - Forrest Gump Reviews
forrest gump is a beautiful story of a boy born with disabilities that does miraculous things that running, playing football, and joining the army. and whoever is the critic that gave this movie a C, that's messd up big time. i recommend it. just rent it for like 3 days and watch it. it'll be a movie you'll definitely remember.:)
Review - Forrest Gump Reviews
A small-minded, wiity but genteel person. That's how you describe Forrest Gump.
Its setting is so endearing in the sense that it is no common nor uncommon one, but it is a poular one (of course who wouldn't know America?). To comment, let me state the plus points of the movie: setting, story, torrent of events and lastly, the message.
Setting:
If you were to contest the setting, well then you cannot make it! A simple man going through a simple 30-year history of a superpower, of course, it shows that the movie is fairly simple in its views. An average person like me can carry the issues and concerns brought about by the movie with this simplicity. Also, the twists in the setting which has initialy involved him and has him on the centerstage changing that history is somewhat wiity and funny, but of course, sensible and just.
Story:
When you profile the life of a man, you just don't go through his life and leave out what's happening around him. In that case, FOERREST GUMP has brought Hanks into the limelight. The movie has done its character in such a way that the story wouldn't be there if he is not there (in most cases and in most movies). If you are not getting what I'm saying, then let's put it this way. The story focuses on one man, and that man is very instrumental in changing the history around him. Thjat's the story...and the whole thing.
Torrent of Events:
The events fairly ran smoothly and in order in such a way that the movie follows how Gump grows through time.
Message:
Simple but ocean deep. Man has his own box of chocolates. Whatever he will get, he has to face the consequence or the sweet taste of victory.
Overall, I do say that Forrest Gump really has the edge to make it to the top spot of my most favorite movies. Its wit and message has truly captivated my heart and left me reaching for a box of chocolates.

Amazing movie! - Forrest Gump Reviews
This movie has some of the best directing and performances of any movie of it's time. The musical scores matched the time eras that were being perceived in the movie. The setting was very original, and it all just seemed to fit together perfectly.
This movie is at the right place at the right time - Forrest Gump Reviews
Simply put, Forrest Gump is always at the right place at the right time. This enormous box office hit would take home the Best Picture Academy Award, whilst Tom Hanks earned his second Best Actor Oscar for his riveting but extremely meticulously portrayal of the lead character. Director Robert Zemeckis who previously garnered huge success with the ?Back To The Future? trilogy and ?Who Framed Roger Rabbit? fame, will win an Oscar for his trade as a well established director in Hollywood mainframe. Forrest Gump will also go on to take Academy Awards for Adapted Screenplay, Editing and Visual Effects and undoubtedly considered to be one of the best movies to be released in that calendar year. Zemeckis will work with Hanks six years later in the movie ?Castaway?, which gave Hanks an Oscar nomination. In the movie entirety, every still photograph of Forrest Gump shows him with his eyes closed.
Best movie ever! - Forrest Gump Reviews

Jealous people! - Forrest Gump Reviews
A user named marcopoloseeks has written a review 'Cretins can find happiness too?' Well what can I say about Mr. marcopoloseeks. He seems to be suffering from severe jealousy. Dude get a life! This is one of the greatest films about the struggles of a guy who wasn't bestowed with intelligence like others. It's shows how that guy overcomes jealous, hateful, people like you in his journey of life. Chill man! Why are you sad if critens find happiness? Aren't they humans? It's shame that people like you can't even spare Forrest Gump. Go get a life!
It's a superb film. The track record speaks for itself.
Teachs me lot of things about life - Forrest Gump Reviews
Forrest Gump is the kind of movie I would like that wins best pictures, it has every element and spreads a very good message. it is also bittersweet, it's actually a sad movie but it makes you laugh all the way.

I?ve found it to be true that a great movie must have a great film sore. And this is never more true than with "Forrest Gump." Alan Silvestri wrote the most touching music for this movie. Last, but certainly not least, the acting in this film is nothing short of astounding. This is Tom Hanks at his very best, and both Gary Sinise and Robin Wright portray the emotional struggles of the characters Lt. Dan and Jenny with the utmost sincerity.
"Forrest Gump" is based on the novel by Winston Groom, which I thought was an okay book, but it was screenwriter Eric Roth who really created the story that so many people have fallen in love with. "Forrest Gump" is the story of the life of an intellectually underprivileged man and the different and amazing experiences he goes through along the way. I like to say that "Forrest Gump" is like a modern-day version of "Little Big Man" (Dustin Hoffman, 1970). Forrest Gump?s character truly defines the term "extraordinary."
"Forrest Gump" touches on some of the most important themes in life: tolerance, war, friendship, family, love, and death. But the answer that Forrest is looking for the entire film, and sort of the ongoing and overlying theme of the entire movie is destiny. Like the feather opening and closing the circular story, Forrest is forever in search of the answer to his question, "What is my destiny?" At the end of the movie, after having been through so many things and learning so many life lessons, some may say that Forrest is no closer to his answer than he was when he started. But in a way, Forrest is has become a wise and humble man, and after he puts his young son on the school bus to start off his own life journey, Forrest releases the feather, freeing it once again to the wind. That right there is the main message of the film. I like how Gary Sinise puts it in the making-of documentary "Through The Eyes of Forrest Gump" with his slightly cynical, slightly comical style: "Life is just a crap-shoot."

A wildly original and inspirational masterpiece - Forrest Gump Reviews
given my perpetual sarcasm and negativity, you'd be surprised to hear that from me...but this film gets better with age. tom hanks shows a versatility and flair for this role that he has yet to match elsewhere in his career, and the simple and yet heart-tugging story of a simple man with simple desires somehow resonates at the deepest places within me. i know it's a Hollywood film, and i know many folks will shun it for it's high budget and elaborate sets, but underneath the flash exists a truly original movie that is both grand and humble at the same time.
Best movie of the 90's - Forrest Gump Reviews
A classic film. Completely worthy of all praise and Oscars it received. To begin with, Tom Hanks is a big reason why Forrest is so endearing. This is Hanks's best parformance of his great career to date. It seems too difficult to believe he could outdo his performance as Forrest. The story is also so riveting, entertaining, and touching. It's not that there is too much sentimentality at all in this picture. If you feel that way about this film, then you are quite a cold-hearted individual. You can't help but be touched by the moments and Forrest's actions and reactions to them. Of course, as is the case with almost all the classics, the supporting cast is awesome. Where do you begin? Bubba, Lt. Dan, Momma, Jenny...those ae some of the most memorable supporting characters of any film ever made. You're in for a real treat if you never seen this film, and if you have seen it you know you will enjoy it again and again. It has a timeless quality to say the least.
